Anamoka : The Religion had no name
3 answers
We talk about the “Hindu religion”, yet the religion indicated by the term did not truth be told have such a name initially. By, “Hindu” signifies “love”; others say a Hindu is one who objects to himsa or roughness. The expression “Hindu religion” does not happen in any old shastra… The name “Hindu” was given to us by nonnatives. Individuals from the West went to our territory over the Sindhu River which they called “Indus” or “Rear” and the area neighboring it by the name “India”. The religion of this area came to be called “Hindu”. The name of a neighboring nation is here and there connected to the area nearby it…
In any case it might be, “Hinduism” was not the name of our religion in the far off past. Nor was it known as “Vaidika Mata” (vedic religion or as “sanatana dharma” – the antiquated or immortal religion). Our fundamental writings don’t allude to our confidence by any name. When I considered it I felt that there was something insufficient about our religion. All religions notwithstanding our own (Hindu religion) were set up by single people. “Buddhism” is named after Gautama Buddha; Jainism was established by the Jina called Mahavira. Christianity has its cause in Jesus Christ.
Our religion originating before all these had spread everywhere throughout the world. Subsequent to there was no other religion to talk about then it was not important to give it a name. When I perceived this I felt on the double that there was no should be embarrassed about the way that our religion had no name before. Despite what might be expected, I felt pleased about it…. At that point who built up it? Who was the author of the Hindu religion? Is it true that it was Vyasa, who formed the Brahmasutra? On the other hand would it say it was Krishna Paramatman who gave us the Bhagwad Gita? Be that as it may, both Vyasa and Krishna express that the vedas existed before them. In the event that that be the situation, would we say we are to indicate the rishis, the diviners who gave us vedic mantras, as originators of our religion?
In any case, they themselves proclaim: “We didn’t make the vedas. When we serenade a mantra we touch our head with our hand saying the name of some diviner. However, the sages themselves say: “the reality of the matter is that the mantras got to be show to the world through us. That is the reason we are specified as the ‘mantra rishis’. However, the mantras were not formed by us but rather uncovered to us. When we sat thinking with our brains under control, the mantras were seen by us in space. In fact we saw them (consequently the term mantra-drastas). We didn’t create them (the diviners are not mantra-kartas)”.
